Gardening Fever

I know it's only January, but I'm ready to get outside. Today it was 55 o and they predict even warmer as the week goes by. Do you think we will have a winter and snow, with really cold weather?

Last week the staff gave me two boxes of all types of seeds, given to them. They are all outdated. Well, I looked them over. I've got enough beans for the rest of Arkansas, but I sorted them all out--picked out what maybe we could start and use here without buying all those plants. Since they are all outdated, I started vegetables seeds and flower seeds this week to see if they are any good. If they are, I'll start more in late Feb. and early Mar.

Really, I'm very excited about that. One of the CNA's have a number of small portable green houses she uses herself. She offered to bring some in that I could start the seed in them. Each one hold 48 spaces. That will be fun. Haven't got too much space, but I'll make it for this job. If all goes well, I should be able to start, perennials--annuals--vegetables and some vine plants like gourd and melons.

I'll keep you informed.
